10 Best Characters in Beelzebub, Ranked

Beelzebub is an anime adaptation of the Japanese manga by Ryuhei Tamura published by Shonen Jump. This anime is produced by studio Pierrot Plus and aired in 2011 with a total of 60 episodes.

This anime tells the story of a young man named Oga Tatsumi who becomes the father of the demon king's son. He is forced to take care of baby Beel and teach baby Beel about life so that he can later become a powerful and great demon lord. In addition, this anime also contains humor and comedy that will make the audience laugh out loud.

Well, this time I want to review the  best characters in Beelzebub. Come on, let's just see together.

10. Shintaro Natsume

Shintaro Natsume is one of Kenzaki's subordinates. He has an easygoing demeanor and also dislikes fighting. For this reason, Natsume rarely engages in battle and prefers to avoid fighting as much as possible.

However, basically Natsume has fighting skills at a higher level than Kenzaki. It could be said that Natsume's fighting ability was more or less on par with the famously strong Tojo. If he wanted to, he could actually take Kanzaki or Himekawa's position easily.

9. Alaindelon

Alaindelon is a transdimensional demon that allows him to move across dimensions. In this case, he often acts as an intermediary between the demon world and the human world. Alaindelon has a stocky build with a thick mustache and at first glance similar to Queen vocalist Freddy Mercurie.

In Beelzebub's story, Alaindelon has a funny and strange attitude. Even though he tried to be serious in certain situations, still he couldn't hide his funny side. Uniquely, Alaindelon considers Furuichi as a noble and he stays at Furuichi's house while he is in the human world.

8. Tatsuya Himekawa

The next Tohoshinki member is Tatsuya Himekawa. He is the son of the Japanese conglomerate owner of the Himekawa Group. Himekawa has a unique appearance with a pompadour hairstyle, Hawaiian style clothes, and green glasses.

Due to his family's wealthy status, Himekawa has an arrogant attitude and believes that money can solve problems. For this reason, he often bribes his friends to cooperate with him. Even so, Himekawa still had quite a high fighting skill. He used to use tactics in battle and used shock baton as an attacking weapon.

7. Hidetora Tojo

Next, there is Hidetora Tojo who is also part of Tohoshinki. Compared to the other Tohoshinki members, Tojo is the strongest person in the group. Tojo has a stout, muscular build and he also has a calm demeanor compared to other bad boys. In addition, he can also control his emotions well.

In fighting, Tojo tends to rely on his brutal abilities. His strength is also more or less commensurate with Oga Tatsumi. In addition, he also has strong speed and endurance so he is not easily defeated. Although Tojo often fights with Oga, Tojo has respect for him too.

6. Aoi Kunieda

Aoi Kunieda is a second year student at Ishiyama High School and the third leader of the Red Tail gang. She is also the only female member of Tohoshinki. She has a beautiful appearance with a slender body.

As a girl, Aoi is so strong and charismatic that she is able to lead the Red Tail gang at her school. She possesses sword skills and martial techniques. She is often seen carrying a wooden sword as her main weapon.

Before being defeated by Oga, Aoi often looked serious and had a sharp look in her eyes. However, she slowly became more relaxed and calm after meeting Oga. Aoi also has a younger brother named Kota who she used to hang out in the park with.

5. Hajime Kanzaki

Next, there is Hajime Kanzaki who is a thug at his school. He is a third year student and a member of the Thoshinki. He also once ruled and dominated the entire school before he was finally defeated by Oga Tatsumi.

Hajime had a sadistic attitude and he liked to attack anyone, be it friend or foe. However, he also has a positive side, especially when it comes to his self-esteem or pride. In addition, he is also very loyal to some of his subordinates. What's unique about this character is that Hajime really likes yogurt.

4. Hilda

The next character who plays an important role in Beelzebub's story is Hilda. The woman whose real name is Hildegrade is a demon who is assigned to take care of baby Beel. She is also often considered as Oga's wife by his parents, especially when Hilda is at his house.

Hilda has a cold demeanor and tends to be less friendly. However, behind that, Hilda is very protective of baby Beel. She often plays the role of Beel's babysitter. In addition, she is also a strong character because she has expertise in fighting both with swords and with bare hands.

3. Takayuki Furuichi

The next character who is very funny and humorous in this story is Takayuki Furuichi. This responsible man is Oga's best friend. He is often seen with Oga, both at school and at home.

Unlike Oga, Furuichi has a cowardly attitude and often avoids battle. Not only that, he is also a bit perverted and has wild imaginations towards women. He also often acts cool in front of women, even though the endings fail too. Apart from that, Furuichi is a person who is quite a genius and is good at strategizing.

2. Oga Tatsumi

In this story, Oga Tatsumi is the main character who has a firm attitude and is sometimes funny. He is a first year high school student at Ishiyama High School. Well, this Oga is also the foster father of Beelzebub.

Oga met baby Beel when he was on the river bank. Just then, a large man suddenly appeared and his body split open. Then, baby Beel appeared. After that, Oga decided to become the parents of baby Beel. He often takes baby Beel to school and enjoys teaching him manly things related to the male world, such as fighting etc.

Oga himself is very skilled in fighting with the blanks. He has super strong kicks and punches. Because of that, he could match the thugs at his school, such as Hajime, Himekawa, or Tojo. Uniquely, Oga is also often resistant to baby Beel's super strong electric shock.

1. Beelzebub IV

Beelzebub IV has a fairly long original name, namely Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV. Beel is the son of the demon king Beelzebub III and Iris. He was sent to the human world by his father with the aim that he could one day destroy the human world. In the human world, baby Beel then meets Oga Tatsumi and is raised by him.

Baby Beel has a pretty adorable appearance. He also sometimes feels weak because he often loses in competition with other babies or even with cats. When he feels depressed, he will cry aloud and emit high-voltage electric waves. Although baby Beel can't control the power at first, Oga slowly teaches it so that baby Beel can use his electric attacks to attack enemies.
