Vinland Saga is one of the interesting anime that tells about the life of the Vikings. The first season of the anime focuses on Thorfinn's quest to avenge his father who was killed in the battle against Askeladd and his men.

10. Torgrim
Torgrim is one of Askeladd's crew who has quite a name. Die is a Viking who is quite respected. On top of that, he had a well-built body and was experienced in battle. However, he started to change after he fought Thorkell.
Even though Torgrim doesn't show his full potential in the story, he can be said to be a very formidable fighter. Besides that, Torgrim also has influence because he doesn't hesitate to invite other crew members to betray Askeladd.
9. Atli
Torgrim's brother, Atli, is part of Askeladd's crew who is introduced briefly in the anime. Although Atli is not physically as big as his brother, he is described as quite a cunning and skilled character.
Even though Atli's full strength hasn't been shown yet, Atli is definitely a formidable fighter because he was able to survive his years as a Viking. He was also able to escape Thorkell's slaughter attack without sustaining serious injury.
8. Ragnar
Ragnar is Canute's personal bodyguard and adviser who always protects him. He always made sure Canute's safety from all kinds of dangers, including the assassination attempt on the young prince Canute.
In the anime story, Ragnar only shows a fraction of his strength. However, he can be said to be a formidable warrior, especially when he was still in his heyday. Ragnar is killed by one of the traps set by Askeladd's men.

At the beginning of the story, Canute is described as a weak and shy character. Besides that, he always takes cover behind Ragnar. However, he started to dare to fight back when he fought Thorfinn.
Over time, Canute grew into a young king who is confident and a little cunning. He was able to handle chaotic situations after his father died. While there isn't much info on his fighting prowess, Canute is most likely trained in the use of a sword.
6. Bjorn
Bjorn is a very loyal Askeladd follower and has served Askeladd for a long time. He can be regarded as the second person in command of the crew. In addition, he is very tough in battle.
Bjorn may not be bright, but he has a very impressive physique. When he eats a berserker mushroom, Bjorn is able to change into berserker mode which makes him even more dangerous. In that form, Bjorn can fight several people at once.
5. Floki
In the Viking world, Jomsvikings are known as high-level fighters who are very scary. One of the strongest Jomsviking commanders in the Vindland Saga story is Floki who was involved in the fight against Askeladd.
Floki is very skilled with a sword. He is able to withstand Askeladd's sword attack with reflexes as well as his toughness. Besides that, Floki also has a clever mind. He had a mission to persuade Thors to return to the battlefield.

Thors is the strongest Viking that appears in the Vinland Saga story. Unfortunately, he dies too early in the story. Even so, Thors had shown his very impressive fighting power in a few short episodes.
Thors managed to defeat all the ships containing his enemies. In the fight against Askeladd and his crew, Thors is able to defeat several of Askeladd's men, including Bjorn. In addition, Thors was able to withstand Thorkell's attacks without difficulty.
3. Askeladd
Askeladd has proven himself to be a shrewd and excellent commander over time. He had plundered a Frankish city with his cunning plan so that he and his men were able to attack the unguarded harbor.
In addition, Askeladd is a very skilled sword user. He was able to match Thors strength in a fierce battle. Additionally, Askeladd is capable of taking down multiple enemies at once, such as when he finished off his men after they betrayed him.

Thorkell is one of the most powerful fighters in the Vinland Saga. Even though Thorkell is currently not in his prime, Thorkell is still very strong and able to fight very quickly against his enemies.
Thorkell's strength was seen when he defended London and sank several Viking ships. Even though Thorkell's body is very large, he is still able to move quickly and match Thorfinn's agility in battle.
1. Thorfinn
Although Thorfinn's natural talent for fighting was poor, he managed to prove himself through determination and hard work. Thorfinn has taken out many of his foes during the first season and he has the potential to become much stronger like his father, Thors.
In fighting, Thorfinn relies on two short swords and he is very agile. He is able to calculate enemy attacks and avoid them quickly. In addition, he is a fearless fighter when faced with the very cruel Thorkell.
