All Members of SquarePants Family, Explained

SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the most popular Nickelodeon cartoons and is liked by children. The story of this cartoon focuses on the life of SpongeBob and his friends who live in Bikini Bottom.

1. Primitive Sponge

In episode SB-129, Squidward is told to have been thrown back in prehistoric times. At that time, Squidward met with a primitive Sponge known as the ancestor of SpongeBob. Their battle was very awkward.

Additionally, Sponge is seen with Patrick. They are both still very wild because they still live in the wild and do not know civilization. In addition, they still can not speak.

2. SpongeGar

In contrast to the primitive Sponge, SpongeGar looks more intelligent and advanced because he has known civilization. He has a pineapple house that still looks primitive. In addition, he keeps ancient snails similar to Gary, which are giant in size.

3. SpongeBuck SquarePants

When compared to the two previous SpongeBob predecessors, SpongeBuck is far more modern and cool. He appeared in the episode Pest of the West and was introduced as a hero living in Dead Eye Gulch.

SpongeBuck is considered a hero because he managed to defeat an evil enemy named Dead Eye Plankton who controls Dead Eye Gulch. Thanks to his heroic actions, SpongeBuck was able to stop Dead Eye's evil plans and save the city.

4. Grandpa SquarePants

Grandpa SquarePants is Spongebob's grandfather and father of three children, namely Harold, Sherm, and Blue SquarePants. The character was first alluded to in the episode Rock Bottom when SpongeBob missed the bus.

Grandpa is known to have unique pieces of advice that SpongeBob always remembers. For example, he had advised SpongeBob not to chase a bus that was passing at a 90 degree angle. Besides that, Grandpa also gave a message about sponges that can fly.

5. Grandma SquarePants

As the name implies, Grandma SquarePants is Grandpa's wife and SpongeBob's grandmother who is very concerned about her grandson. She is usually visited by SpongeBob or other members of the SquarePants family.

Grandma always treats SpongeBob like a child who needs affection. This treatment makes SpongeBob often annoyed because he feels he has grown up. This is clearly seen in the episode Grandma's Kisses.

6. Harold SquarePants

Harold SquarePants is the father of SpongeBob who is very kind. Unlike SpongeBob, Harold has a round/oval shaped head. Harold and his wife first appeared in the episode Home Sweet Pineapple.

In that episode, SpongeBob loses his pineapple house to Nematodes, so his parents force SpongeBob to move in with them. Harold is very protective of his wife and he loves spending time on his work.

7.Margaret SquarePants

Like any mother figure, Margaret is very considerate of SpongeBob. Together with Harold, Margaret joins in picking up SpongeBob who is grieving after losing his beloved pineapple house.

In addition, Margaret and Harold also appear frequently in several other episodes. For example, in the episode New Digs, they visited SpongeBob at the Krusty Krab to check on their son.

8. Captain Blue SquarePants

Captain Blue is SpongeBob's uncle and father of BlackJack, one of SpongeBob's cousins. He is a former police captain who has retired and was first introduced in the episode BlackJack.

Captain Blue looks very lazy. It may be because he has retired from his job. He prefers to enjoy juice while listening to country music from his favorite record player.

9. Sherm SquarePants

Like Captain Blue, Sherm SquarePants is SpongeBob's uncle and Stanley's father. Although not shown directly in the story, SpongeBob is shown a photo of Sherm in the episode Pest of the West.

Sherm is very troubled by his son's behavior because Stanley always brings destruction everywhere. He even forbade Stanley to turn on the TV. As a result of this, Sherm sent Stanley to SpongeBob in the episode Stanley S. SquarePants.

10. SpongeBob SquarePants

SpongeBob SquarePants character may already be familiar to you fans of Nickelodeon cartoons. SpongeBob is the son of Harold and Margaret SquarePants, who works as a chef at the Krusty Krab every day.

SpongeBob lives in a pineapple house located at 123 Conch Street. In addition, he keeps a snail named Gary. When not working, SpongeBob usually spends time with Gary.

11. BlackJack SquarePants

BlackJack is SpongeBob's very gruff cousin. He got the spotlight in an episode entitled BlackJack. As a child, BlackJack has a bigger body than SpongeBob so he likes to make fun of SpongeBob.

After getting out of prison, BlackJack got into trouble and scared SpongeBob through the messages he sent. SpongeBob is very concerned about the safety of his family. The funny thing is, BlackJack isn't as scary as he used to be because his body has shrunk.

12. Stanley S. SquarePants

As previously mentioned, Stanley S. SquarePants is the son of Sherm who really likes to do damage. Stanley is described as someone who cannot be responsible and often brings trouble.

The funny thing is, every object that Stanley touches will be damaged. This makes Sherm and SpongeBob very annoyed with him. Despite this, Stanley is a lively and cheerful person.

13.Todd SquarePants

Todd is a distant relative of SpongeBob who was not introduced in the TV show, but he does appear in the story book The Never-Ending Stay. Todd has a similar appearance to SpongeBob with his trademark mustache and beard.

In contrast to SpongeBob, Todd has a messy personality and cares less about cleanliness. He likes to wear really smelly socks. On top of that, he left pizza boxes lying around without any intention of cleaning them up.

14. SpongeBob's grandson

In the episode entitled The Great Patty Caper, SpongeBob is told to have grandchildren who live in the future. Although his name is unknown, SpongeBob's grandson is very similar to SpongeBob.

15. Spongetron

SpongeTron is a robotic descendant of SpongeBob SquarePants. In episode SB-129, he is told to live in a very advanced 41st century. Additionally, SpongeTron uniquely works as the Krusty Krab.

Because SpongeTron is a robot, his body is equipped with advanced equipment, such as a rocket engine, a laser hammer, and a very high intellect. In addition, SpongeTron has a very large number of clones.
