10. Konayuki Itezora
Konayuki Itezora is a young girl who comes from the Itezora clan. Even though she looks like a weak girl, she actually has impressive fighting skills. She is able to wield the large sword called Kanazuchi.
Shichika also had time to challenge Konayuki in a duel to fight over the sword. In that duel, Konayuki was able to deliver an attack that injured Shichika's left arm.
9. Houou Maniwa
Houou Maniwa is known as the leader of the Maniwa Ninja and the leader of a special force called Bird Squad. He wears a ninja costume that looks like a phoenix. In addition, he has an interesting personality and is different from his peers.
Houou is very tough and agile. He is able to issue a sharp air blades by swinging his hand. He was possessed by the spirit of Kiki Shikizaki which made him lose control and destroy the village of Maniwa.
8. Pengin Maniwa
Pengin Maniwa is a Maniwa ninja who joins the Fish Squad. As his name implies, he uses a costume that is identical to the penguin. In addition, he has a shy nature.
Pengin has expertise as an informant. He also has a special technique that can increase "luck" and reject standard logic. Unfortunately, he was killed when he confronted Enzaemon.
7. Meisai Tsuruga
Meisai Tsuruga is known as the head of the Sanzu shrine located in Izumo. She claimed that her name had been forgotten a long time ago. She was using a name of the priest she had killed in the past.
Meisai is a formidable fighter and master of kendo martial arts. In addition, she has a unique sword named Tsurugi. She is able to combine that sword with her unique fighting style called Sentouryū.

Rinne knew Kiki Shikizaki in the past until she received Seitō Hakari's sword from him. He had a fear that the poisonous nature of the sword would affect him. Because of that, he preferred to bury the sword in the ground.
5. Emonzaemon Souda
Emonzaemon Souda is one of Shichika's strongest and most dangerous enemies. He is known as a loyal follower of Princess Hitei. Additionally, he secretly monitors Togame and Shichika's movements and reports them to Princess Hitei.
Emonzaemon always covers his face with a mask given by Princess Hitei. He was once a ninja of the Aioi Army. Additionally, he has a unique ninjutsu that allows him to manipulate the darkness around him.
4. Hitei
Hitei is a beautiful princess who lives in Owari. She has a haughty nature and likes to look down on others. On top of that, she becomes a troublesome foe who becomes a thorn in Togame's journey.
Hitei doesn't fight directly, but she always relies on Emonzaemon who becomes her loyal subordinate. One of the surprising facts about Hitei is that she turns out to be a descendant of Kiki Shikizaki.
3. Nanami Yasuri
Nanami Yasuri is the older sister of Shichika. Even though she looks like an ordinary girl, she can turn into an intimidating fighter in battle. She has keen senses and quick reflexes.
In addition, Nanami has good observation skills. She is able to observe the techniques and movements of the enemy and then mastered the ability in no time. In addition, she has an unusual healing ability.
2. Togame
In second place, there is Togame who plays an important role in the story of Katanagatari. She claims to be a strategist for the shogunate. She ventures alone to the island where Shichika lives and asks for his help to find the 12 legendary swords.
Togame has a cheerful and intelligent nature. Despite this, she has a very traumatic past because her father was killed by Ichika's father in the past. At the end of his life, she admits to Shichika that she approached Shichika to avenge her.
1. Shichika Yasuri
There's no doubt that Shichika Yasuri is the best character in Katanagatari. He is the seventh head of the Kyotōryū martial arts school located on the isolated island of Fushō.
Shichika inherited a very unique martial arts ability from his family. He is indeed incapable of wielding a real sword. However, he is able to function their limbs like swords to fight.
Since he was little, Shichika has been trained to become a human weapon until he has difficulty expressing his emotions. However, his personality began to change after he met Tagome.
