The world of anime is often filled with criminals and villains who often commit crimes. Their existence is also a threat so that they must be detained in a prison with a strict security system.
There are several interesting dungeons that appear in the anime's story. What are they? Check out the full discussion below!
10. Baste Dungeon – Nanatsu no Taizai
For starters, there is a powerful prison called Baste Dungeon which was introduced at the beginning story of Nanatsu no Taizai. The prison once held dangerous criminals. An example is Ban, who was previously slandered on charges of murder.
During the time when the Holy Knights controlled the Kingdom of Liones, the prison was also used to hold any rebels against them. Even though the prison was very strong, it was later destroyed by Ban and Meliodas.
9. Arizona State Prison – Baki
The next interesting prison is the Arizona State Prison from the Baki series. The prison is fairly complex and specifically designed to hold criminals who are difficult to handle by ordinary officers.
The prison is guarded by strong people, such as Biscuit Oliva. Apart from that, the guards were also ordered to take execution measures if the criminals were out of control. Interestingly, Baki Hanma was once held in that prison.
8. Cochlea – Tokyo Ghoul
In the story of Tokyo Ghoul, there are many ghouls who are dangerous and often commit acts of murder that disturb the public. Those who were defeated and captured by the CCG groups were then thrown into a place called Cochlea.
Cochlea has a very tight guard system and difficult to penetrate. However, the prison was broken into by Aogiri Tree's membets. After the incident, the prison's security and defense system was strengthened by the CCG.
7. Nanba Prison – Nanbaka
Nanba Prison is a prison with a strict security system which is the main setting in Nanbaka. The prison holds dangerous criminals from various places, such as Jyugo, Uno, Nico, and Rock.
The four of them had tried to escape from the prison. However, their efforts are practically impossible and always end in vain. Even if they managed to get past the trap, they couldn't beat Hajime who was their supervisor.
6. Deadman Wonderland – Deadman Wonderland
Deadman Wonderland includes a prison with a unique and dark system. Apart from functioning to detain prisoners, the prison is also used as a place for entertainment for people who display dangerous competitions or events involving prisoners.
Normally, Deadman Wonderland is divided into six districts from A to F. However, the prison has a secret district that holds people called Deadmens who can manipulate blood. They are forced to fight in a deadly tournament.
5. Green Dolphin Street Prison – JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
The next prison is Green Dolphin Street Prison which is the main setting in the story of Stone Ocean. After being slandered for a criminal case, Jotaro's daughter named Jolyne Cujoh was forced to become a prisoner in the prison.
Green Dolphin Street Prison has a strict security and guard system so that prisoners will not be able to escape. In addition, the prison also has a special room that holds criminals who are difficult to manage.
4. Tartarus – Boku no Hero Academia
Tartarus is a special prison in Boku no Hero Academia that is guarded with high security standards. In addition, the prison contains most feared dangerous criminals, such as All For One, Overhaul, and Stein.
Even though Tartarus was heavily guarded, Tomura Shigaraki and his groups managed to break into the prison. The incident made the dangerous prisoners who were there managed to escape.
3. Gourmet Prisons – Toriko
Gourmet Prisons is a powerful prison managed by an organization called IGO. The prison became a place of detention for dangerous criminals who had violated the Eight Gourmet Laws.
Interestingly, Gourmet Prisons is divided into three facilities located in various locations. The three places are Sky Prison, Prison Submarine, and Honey Prison. Because the guard system was so tight, the prisoners wouldn't be able to escape.
2. Central Great Underground Prison – Bleach
The Central Great Underground Prison is a heavily guarded dungeon in Soul Society. The prison is a detention place for Shinigami who have violated the rules of Soul Society and committed criminal acts.
Central Great Underground Prison is divided into eight levels. The lowest level is Muken. The level is an empty space that is not connected to the outside world. Aizen was detained at that level for the crimes he committed.
1. Impel Down – One Piece
According to my opinion, the best prison in the anime is Impel Down from One Piece series. The prison holds dangerous pirates and criminals from around the world. In addition, the prison is divided into six floors or levels.
At each level, the prisoners are closely guarded by wardens and scary monsters. One of the scariest things about Impel Down is the existence of Magellan who has the power of the Doku Doku no Mi.
