Kabukicho Four Devas are the four rulers of the Kabuki District, recognized by all Kabuki residents. Shimura Kenpachi calls them the pillars of the Kabuki District, possessing both influence and power.
They once became the center of attention when they bickered and fought with each other. As a result, their balance began to waver and collapse, until they finally decided to retire and pass on their titles to a new generation.
So, here, we would like to discuss all members of Kabukicho Four Devas in Gintama. Let's take a look!
1. Otose
Torada Ayano, better known as Otose, is the owner of the Otose Snack House. She is also the landlord of the Yorozuya residence. She or her employees often angrily demand rent from Gintoki.
Despite her unconvincing appearance, Otose once held the title of one of the Four Devas of Kabukicho. She wielded considerable influence in the Kabuki District and occasionally intervened in matters involving the Yakuza.
After the war in the Kabuki District, Otose decided to retire and hand over her title to Sakata Gintoki. Ironically, Gintoki wasn't interested in the title at all.
2. Kada
The next member of Kabukicho Four Devas was Kujamu Hime Kada, who controlled the gambling dens in the Kabuki District. One of her main establishments was the Edo Vegas Casino. There, Gintoki and Hasegawa lost all their fortunes.
Kada once served as captain of the Harusame Pirates' 4th Division. She had a cunning plan to turn the other members of the 4 Kabukicho Gods against each other. She wanted to rule the Kabuki District alone. However, this plan was foiled by Gintoki and Jirocho.
After her capture, her position became vacant. Otose asked Otae to replace Kada as one of the 4 Kabukicho Devas.
3. Saigou
Saigou Tokumori is the leader of the okama who runs the Drag Queen club. He has a muscular build and a feminine, effeminate appearance. He is also a former Joui fighter, more senior than Gintoki.
Saigou possesses immense strength and stamina. He is capable of defeating his opponents barehanded. However, he was seen using a sledgehammer during the war between the Four Devas in the Kabuki District.
Like Otose and Kada, Saigou also renounced his title and handed it over to his subordinate, Kenou Agou. However, he remains the head of the okama club.
4. Jirochou
The last member of the Four Devas of Kabukicho was a powerful samurai named Jirochou. He is the leader of the Dobunezumi, a notorious yakuza group in the Kabuki District.
Jirochou has been Otose's best friend since they were children. He is also an older Joui fighter. He made a promise with Terada Tatsugorou to protect Kabuki Cho from any attack or danger.
Jirochou was considered the main villain in the story of the 4 Devas of Kabuki District. However, he eventually discovered Kada's evil plan and, together with Gintoki, tried to stop it.
At the end of the story, he decided to retire from his position to care for his daughter. He then passed on his title to his subordinate, Kurogama no Katsuo.
