Isaac Netero's Powers & Abilities in Hunter x Hunter, Explained

Isaac Netero was the president of the Hunter Association who died in battle against the Chimera Ant King. He had a humorous and goofy nature. Despite this, he possessed overpowered fighting prowess.

Just how powerful is Netero? Check out the following discussion to find out!

Physical Strenght, High Stamina, Intelligence

If we talk about Netero's general abilities, he excels in various aspects. He possesses above-average physical strength and stamina. Furthermore, he possesses extraordinary speed and reflexes in combat.

Furthermore, Netero demonstrates a high level of intellectual prowess. This is clearly evident when he develops a well-thought-out strategy to defeat the Chimera Ants.

Martial Arts Skills

Netero is a skilled martial artist skilled in hand-to-hand combat. He is a grandmaster of the Shingen-ryu kung fu school. He has extensive combat experience and has defeated many opponents.

Netero is capable of delivering incredibly fast, supersonic punches. The pinnacle of his martial arts prowess is evident in his fight against Meruem. He is capable of delivering a flurry of blows at full speed to Meruem.

100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva

Netero is an Enhancer-type Nen user. He possesses a special ability called the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva. This ability manifests as a giant golden Guanyin statue created from Nen.

The statue has numerous arms. When summoned in battle, the statue stands behind Netero, following Netero's every move.

The statue's attacks are extremely fast and have a fatal effect on the enemy. Furthermore, the statue is capable of executing a variety of attacks, ranging from First Hand to Zero Hand.

First Hand

First Hand is a single-strike technique that takes the form of an axe blow. This attack is so fast that Meruem claims he can't see it.

Although the impact isn't fatal to Meruem, the attack has been proven to cause Meruem to bleed.

Third Hand

Unlike the previous technique, the Bodhisattva statue will execute an attack in the form of a clap of its hands at the enemy with full force.

This attack can destroy any enemy caught between the claps. Meruem can still withstand the attack with his strength.

Ninety-Ninth Hand

The Ninety-Ninth Hand is one of Netero's ultimate techniques. First, he joins his thumb and index finger to form the number 99. Then, the Bodhisattva statue unleashes a flurry of punches with its entire hand.

This series of punches is extremely deadly and can create deep cracks in the ground. Despite the attack's immense power, it still isn't enough to defeat Meruem.

Zero Hand

Netero has another deadly attack, called the Zero Hand. When executing this attack, Netero prays with all his heart. Then, the Bodhisattva statue appears behind the enemy and attacks them with force.

Afterward, the Bodhisattva statue unleashes a destructive shot created from Netero's remaining Nen. This single shot can inflict fatal damage to Meruem.

This technique required a very long preparation, as Netero had to meditate for days. After the technique was released, he became an old man, his aura having been drained.

Poor Man's Rose

Meruem was too powerful an opponent for Netero. Despite being attacked repeatedly, he still managed to survive. However, Netero still had one more attack that could finish Meruem off.

Netero activated a suicide bomb, activated by stabbing himself in the heart. The bomb was a weapon of mass destruction capable of producing a massive explosion over a very wide radius.

Even if people managed to survive the blast, they would ingest a deadly poison that could destroy internal organs. This poison was what led to Meruem's death.
