Dead Account is an interesting anime about exorcism in the modern world where the exorcists use smartphone as the medium. It focuses on a teenager named Souji Enishiro, a controversial and widely hated YouTuber with the handle "Aoringo."
Souji deliberately creates content that will attract a large audience because he needs money for his sister medical treatment. However, his life changes after he meets an exorcist named Kukuru Kasubata.
At that time, Kukuru targets Souji's phone to exterminate the evil spirit that resides in his deceased sister social media dead account. Souji initially refuses to believe this.
However, Souji then realizes the painful truth: his sister died some time ago. All this time, the one communicating with him via social media was not his sister, but a vengeful spirit resembling his sister.
This encounter brings about a major change for Souji. He discovers he possesses special supernatural powers to exorcise spirits. He is recruited to join Miden Academy as a student and trains diligently to master his powers.
