The Yato clan is one of the strongest clans in the universe. They are known to be very strong and crazy fighting, even with their fellow clan members.

7. Mutsu
Mutsu is a member of the Yato clan who is currently Sakamoto's subordinate in the Kaientai group. Despite that, she is used to being in charge of the group because Sakamoto likes to disappear without a word.
Mutsu used to be quiet and serious in all situations. However, she is a formidable fighter because she comes from the Yato clan. In addition to relying on physical strength, Mutsu usually also fights using firearms, such as pistols.
6. Abuto
Abuto is a member of the Seventh Division of the Harusame Pirates. He is usually seen with Kamui when he appears in stories. He is a relaxed person and doesn't really like fighting with other Yato members.

4. Kouka
Kouka is the wife of Umibouzu as well as the mother of Kamui and Kagura from Kouan, the homeland of the Yato clan. When Kouan was destroyed, many of the Yato members were killed and some were scattered to various places in the universe.
However, Kouka still chose to stay with Kouan until she finally met Umibouzu. Although she is never shown fighting, she has incredible power because she can absorb the power of Alkana, just like Utsuro. Unfortunately, Kouka's condition is getting worse after leaving Kouan until she died.
3. Kamui
In third place, there is Kagura's older brother named Kamui. He is one of strongest the Yato fighters. Furthermore, he has the potential to surpass his father's strength. He has a bloodthirsty nature and is very violent when fighting with other people.

2. Housen
Housen was known as the leader of Yoshiwara as well as one of the strongest enemies that Gintoki has ever faced. Not only that, Housen was also known as "the King of the Yato". He also served as captain of the seventh division of the Haruame pirates.
Housen's power over the years was almost unmatched in Yoshiwara until he finally managed to defeat Gintoki with all his might. It was also thanks to the help of Tsukuyo and the Hyakka members. the only person capable of fighting to a draw with Housen was Umibouzu.
1. Umibouzu
The strongest Yato on this list is none other than Kankou, better known by the nickname Umibouzu. He is an alien hunter who is very famous in the universe. In addition, he is included in the ranks of the strongest characters in the Gintama.
Umibouzu's strength was indeed on par with Housen's, but he seemed to be superior to Housen. They used to fight for three days straight. Unfortunately, the fight had to be stopped because Umibouzu needed a toilet break.
