One Piece: 10 Best Fights in Onigashima

Wano is one of the longest and most exciting arcs in One Piece. This arc has been going on for over three years and is now nearing the climax of the story. Wano's story is currently focusing on the battle between the Straw Hat Pirates and the alliance against the Beast Pirates.

During the battle in Onigashima, there are many interesting and tense battles that are presented in the story. In the following, we have compiled a list of the most exciting battles in Onigashima.  Come on, let's talk about it!

10. Franky vs Sasaki

During the Wano arc, Franky got quite a lot of attention, for example when he hit Big Mom with his Kurosai. In addition, Franky also got a 1 vs 1 fight against Sasaki from Tobi Roppo.

Sasaki possesses the Zoan devil fruit which allows him to become Triceratops. When he turned into an ancient animal, his body was bigger than Franky's Iron Pirate. Both can be said to be balanced in terms of combat strength.

When fighting against Sasaki, Franky had a hard time because Sasaki's dinosaur body was very hard and had strong defense. However, Franky managed to find an opening to defeat Sasaki in one laser beam shot which ended their battle immediately.

9. Robin vs Black Maria

When Sanji was captured by Black Maria and her subordinates, he did not have the strength to fight back because of the principles he held. Sanji had asked Robin for help to save him from Black Maria's trap.

Without hesitation, Robin and Brook came to the place where Sanji was being held hostage. There, they came face to face with Black Maria and her army. Robin fearlessly faced Black Maria head-on, while Brook took care of the rest. 

To be honest, the fight between Robin and Black Maria is quite tense because Black Maria looks superior in terms of strength. Like other Tobi Roppo members, Black Maria has an ancient Zoan devil fruit that allows her to turn into a spider from ancient times.

Although the fight was initially dominated by Black Maria, Robin was eventually able to turn the situation around. She uses a new move called Demonio Fleur which is able to intimidate and defeat Black Maria in battle.

8. Jinbe vs Who's Who

Despite being caught by Big Mom at WCI, Jinbe finally managed to escape and followed the SHP crew to Wano just as they were heading to Onigashima. The presence of Jinbe automatically increases the fighting strength of SHP and alliances to fight the Beast pirates.

Jinbe provided a lot of help during the war on Onigashima. In addition, he had the opportunity to fight against a member of Tobi Roppo named Who's Who. Unexpectedly, Who's Who is a former member of CP9 and they seem to have known each other in the past.

In terms of strength, Who's Who has the ability to turn into a ancient Saber Tiger. In addition, he mastered the Rokushiki fighting technique that is typical of the Cipper Pol agent. Their fight was very interesting because Who's Who had mentioned the very mysterious figure of Nika.

Who's Who is indeed very strong, but he is not a tough opponent for Jinbe who is stronger than him. In the end, their fierce battle was finally won by Jinbe.

7. Killer vs Hawkins

Although Killer and Hawkins briefly formed an alliance, the two of them eventually met as enemies after Hawkins sided with Kaido out of fear. The two of them were involved in a fierce conflict in the final battle at Onigashima.

In terms of strength, Killer is actually much stronger than Hawkins who has the Wara Wara no Mi ability. However, Hawkins has a cunning strategy by using Kid as his puppet. This makes Killer careful when attacking Hawkins because every wound Hawkins receives will lead to Kid.

However, Killer managed to find Hawkins' weakness and find an opening to reverse the flow of the battle. Killer attacks Hawkins' left hand because he knows Kid's left hand is missing. After that, Killer ended the fight with his ultimate attack.

6. Nine Red Scabbards vs Kaido

The battle between Nine Red Scabbards against Kaido is one of the most emotional battles in Wano's story. The fight is a form of revenge because Kaido has killed Oden in the past.

In that battle, all of Oden's loyal retainers fought desperately to kill Kaido who was very overpowered. Even though Kaido was beaten by them, Kaido still stood tall and attacked them with a very terrible attack.

The Akazaya Nine had dealt attacks on Kaido's vital points, but their attacks were not enough to take down the monstrous monster. In the end, they lost and got very serious injuries at the end of the battle against Kaido.

5. Sanji vs Queen

The next epic battle in Onigashima is the fight between Sanji and Queen. In terms of combat power, Sanji is actually much weaker than Queen who has the power of the Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Bracchiosaurus devil fruit.

In addition, Queen has modified his body into a deadly weapon in battle. The comparison of Sanji and Queen's strength looks very contrasting at the beginning of the fight. Sanji's attacks did not work and he was crushed by Queen.

However, there is one interesting plot twist in their fight. Sanji's exo-skeleton body finally rose and restored Sanji's crushed bones to their original state. In addition, the modified body gives Sanji new powers.

With the combination of haki and the exo-skeleton body, Sanji managed to create a new technique called Ifrit Janbe which is much hotter and stronger. The new kick beat Queen and ended the battle. However, their fight left Sanji's body badly injured.

4. Zoro vs King

Just like the previous fight, the duel between Zoro and King is a very tense battle that fans have been waiting for. King is one of the strongest enemies faced by Zoro after he entered the New World.

King came from the Lunarian race that was almost extinct. In addition, he has the power of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon as well as having expertise in the sword. In terms of combat ability, King has several advantages that make it difficult to beat.

What makes this fight even more difficult is that Zoro is not in top condition because he had critical injuries after fighting Kaido and Big Mom with the other Supernovas. However, that did not stop Zoro's determination to defeat King.

Their fight was very fierce and Zoro's sword slash at first did not work against King. The flow of the battle reversed after Zoro saw the gap of King's weakness. Zoro ended the battle with a new Santoryu technique that was able to surpass King's ultimate technique. Zoro's victory also could not be separated from the help of Enma's sword which strengthened his attack.

3. 5 Supernova vs 2 Yonko

One of the most tense moments in Wano's story is the battle between the five Supernovas against the two Yonko on the rooftop of Onigashima. Their fights are very exciting and tense because each of them shows their full strength when fighting.

This fight begins after Luffy reaches the rooftop of Onigashima and attacks Kaido with the Red Rock technique coated in Ryou. After that, they fought to the death to defeat the two extremely powerful ocean emperors. Even though the five Supernovas combined forces, Big Mom and Kaido were still much stronger than them.

One of the very interesting moments in this fight is the moment when Zoro uses the Asura technique to slash Kaido. Zoro's slash was indeed strong enough to penetrate Kaido's body, but his slash was still unable to defeat the monster.

2. Law & Kid vs Big Mom

Big Mom is one of the most troublesome enemies in the battle in Onigashima. Even though they had a fight, Law and Kid finally agreed to combine their strengths to defeat this very strong old granny.

This battle was honestly almost impossible for the two of them to win because the attacks of both of them initially didn't work against Big Mom's body. However, things started to turn around after the two of them made use of their devil fruit awakening powers.

With the awakening technique, their attack proved effective in injuring Big Mom. However, Big Mom was still able to get up and go crazy because she used a secret technique to drastically increase her strength.

After going through a life and death battle, Law and Kid were finally able to overthrow Big Mom with their combined strength. It was a very great feat for the two of them to take down one of the Yonko.

1. Luffy vs Kaido

The fight between Luffy vs Kaido is the most tense decisive battle because we still don't know the end. This fight is very difficult for Luffy to win because Kaido's power is very overpowered and scary.

After mastering Ryou's technique and coating his attacks with king's haki, Luffy's punches are capable of dealing damage to Kaido. The two of them fought very fiercely and produced a very strong clash of king haki. Although he was optimistic, Luffy's strength was not enough to defeat Kaido.

In the last battle, Luffy was defeated by Kaido's powerful kanabo punch. However, he appears to be smiling at the end of the panel which raises a big question mark.

In chapter 1044, Luffy finally woke up and he managed to get a new awakening power of the Mythical Zoan Nika fruit. Although briefly surprised, Kaido then seemed happy with Luffy's awakening because their fight was interrupted.

What is clear, the fight between Luffy and Kaido is very interesting and unforgettable fight. Luffy's victory is the victory of the alliance as well as the residents of Wano who have suffered from Kaido's tyranny for a long time.
