10. Papa Julio
This character is the husband of Coco, who is familiarly called Papa Julio. He was seen with other family members in the spirit world who also crossed into the human world.
He was the first to discover the whereabouts of Miguel who at that time turned into a spirit. At that time, Miguel accidentally hit Papa Julio. Like the rest of the family, Papa Julio was very afraid of Mama Imelda.
9. Mariachi
Mariachi is a street musician who is often seen playing his guitar. He has a quite friendly nature and has become a place for Coco to vent, who really wants to become a musician like Ernesto.
Mariachi had told Coco about the music contest held at the plaza. The character of Mariachi is quite important in the story because she can revive Coco's spirit in pursuing her dream of playing music.
8. Chicharron
Chicharron is Hector's best friend in the spirit world who is seen lamenting his life as a spirit. Just like Hector, no one puts his picture on the ofrenda so he can't cross and his existence begins to fade because he's been forgotten.
Chicharron has a favorite guitar that is very precious to him. When his body began to fade slowly, Hector brought one of his favorite songs as music to accompany his departure for good.
7. Abuelita
Abuelita is Miguel's very talkative grandmother and the first person to oppose Miguel's desire to play music. She forbade Miguel to play music and forced him to continue the Rivera family's shoe business.
Abuelita will be furious when she sees Miguel listening or playing music. She just didn't want Miguel to take the wrong path like her great-grandfather. Even so, Abuelita finally melted after seeing Miguel resuscitate Mama Coco with his guitar.
6. Coco
Coco is one of the important characters in this movie. She is the son of Hector who is so old that she is starting to go senile. She just sat in a chair and was difficult to communicate with by other families.
Coco actually really missed her papa. Coco's memory recovered after Miguel sang Hector's song Remember Me which he dedicated to his beloved daughter. Coco then posted a photo of Hector on ofrenda with the rest of the family who had passed away.

Next, there is Mama Imelda who is highly respected by all her family members. After being left behind by Hector without news, she raises Coco alone and opens a Rivera shoe business to support her.
Mama Imelda also strictly forbade her children to play music because she did not want to repeat the same mistake. She actually really liked music, but Hector's departure changed everything. Ironically, she did not know the truth about Hector during her lifetime.
4. Dante
Dante is a street dog who is best friends with Miguel. He always accompanies Miguel whenever and wherever. In fact, he follows Miguel's extraordinary adventures when he gets lost in the spirit world.
Uniquely, Dante can turn into a legendary creature named alebrije after he helps Pepita and Mama Imelda to save the exiled Hector and Miguel. However, he returned to his normal form when he was in the human world.
3. Enesto de La Cruz
Ernesto de La Cruz is a former partner of Hector as well as a famous musician who is admired by many of his fans. After he died, his name is still remembered by his fans, especially Miguel who was inspired by his music.
Ernesto's popularity also still existed when he was in the spirit world. Behind his popularity, he is just a coward who has the heart to kill his friends for personal gain. He poisoned Hector so he could steal Hector's music. At the end of the story, his crime was revealed and he became very hated by everyone.
2. Hector
Hector is the great-grandfather of Miguel who is very good at playing music. He is able to create very beautiful songs to enjoy. The songs were inspired by his beloved daughter, Coco.
Unfortunately, Hector had bad luck because he was killed by Ernesto when he was tired of music and wanted to return to his family. The news of Hector's death did not reach Imelda and Coco's ears, which made them both think that Hector left them.
Because of that, Imelda hated Hector and she tore up the only photo of Hector with his family. It made him unable to cross into the human world. Fortunately, all the problems were resolved after his meeting with Miguel.
