Darkness Magic is one of the most interesting and powerful magic that appears in Fairy Tail. This magic allows the user to manipulate the element of darkness and create attacks with specific effects.

1. Simon
Simon is Kagura's older brother and a childhood friend of Erza and Jellal when they were prisoners in the Tower of Heaven, also known as the R-System. Although he appears evil, he is essentially a kind person and cares deeply for Erza.
Simon masters a darkness magic spell called Dark Moment. This spell allows him to eliminate light in an area of a room, plunging it into complete darkness. However, he can still move freely in the darkness.
2. Jellal Fernandez
Jellal Fernandez was originally a evil and dangerous mage and posed a threat to Natsu and his friends. However, he has since realized his past mistakes and atoned for his mistakes by founding a guild called Crime Sorcière.
Jellal primarily masters astronomical-based magic called Heavenly Body Magic. However, he also possesses darkness magic. He can creates entities with ghost-like characteristics to attack and restrain opponents.
3. Mirajane Strauss
Mirajane Strauss is an S-rank mage in the Fairy Tail guild. She is usually gentle and friendly towards others. However, she can transform into a cruel and frightening figure when fighting enemies.
Mirajane is a user of Take Over magic, which allows her to take over the bodies and powers of certain creatures, such as demons. She is also capable of using darkness magic when transforming into her Satan Soul form.
4. Fried Justine
Fried Justine is one of Laxus' loyal followers. He has a calm demeanor and always appears serious. Furthermore, he has mastered Dark Écriture magic, which allows him to write rune formulas with specific effects.
Fried also mastered the forbidden magic spell called Dark Écriture: Darkness. By writing runes on himself, he can transform into a dark creature, significantly increasing her fighting power.
5. Brain/Zero
Brain is the leader of the dark guild Oracion Seis. He is extremely powerful and obsessed with finding Nirvana. Furthermore, within him lies a being named Zero, who is far more evil and dangerous.
Brain/Zero is capable of using darkness magic. He typically uses his staff, Klodoa, to unleash his magical attacks. He is also highly skilled at using other types of magic, such as Organic Link and Requip magic.
6. Macbeth
Macbeth, also known as Midnight, is a wizard who once joined the dark guild Oracion Seis. However, he realized his mistake and later joined the Crime Sorcière guild with Jellal.
Macbeth's primary magic is Reflector. He can reflect, distort, and even bend any object. He is also capable of using darkness magic and casting powerful spells, such as Dark Rondo and Genesis Zero.
7. Lapointe
The last dark magic user on this list is Lapointe. He serves as a Cardinal of the Zentopia Church. However, he is basically a puppet used by the Reborn Oracion Seis group to carry out their plans.
Lapointe has a darkness magic spell called Dark Enveloping Claw to restrain his enemies. Apart from that, he also masters Nightmare magic which allows him to influence people through dreams.
