Four Anti Domain Techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen, Explained

Domain Expansion is one of the most powerful techniques mastered by jujutsu sorcerers. Each time it is activated, it has the potential to significantly attack an opponent and win a battle.

Although Domain Expansion is extremely powerful, there's a special technique known as Anti-Domain that can be used to counter it in the battle.

So far, four Anti-Domain techniques have been shown in the story. Check out the full review below!

1. Hollow Wicker Basket

Before the development of Simple Domain, ancient jujutsu sorcerers could use a technique called Hollow Wicker Basket to counter opponent's Domain Expansion. As the name suggests, it is shaped like a basket that acts as a shield.

This shield is capable of neutralizing attacks from an opponent's domain. However, this technique still has a weakness: it is ineffective against Non-Lethal Domains and Incomplete Domains.

2. Simple Domain

Simple Domain is the most popular Anti-Domain technique in Jujutsu Kaisen. This technique allows the user to create a small barrier that can neutralize an opponent's Domain Expansion attack.

Simple Domain was first created by a jujutsu sorcerer named Sadatsuna Ashiya from the Heian Era. Initially, he passed it down through generations and forbade outsiders from learning it.

However, this is no longer the case in modern times, as the technique has been mastered by many jujutsu sorcerers. Examples include Kasumi Miwa, Ui Ui, Atsuya Kusakabe, Yuki Tsukumo, Aoi Todo, and Satoru Gojo.

3. Secret Arts: Falling Blossom Emotion

Unlike the previous two techniques, Secret Arts: Falling Blossom Emotion is a secret technique passed down only to the Three Great Jujutsu Sorcerer Families. It is also highly effective against Domain Expansion.

Secret Arts: Falling Blossom Emotion envelops the user's body in Cursed Energy. When the cursed energy comes into contact with the opponent's domain, it automatically counters and protects the user.

This technique has been shown several times in the story. An example is when Naobito Zenin fought Dagon in the Battle of Shibuya. Gojo also used it against Sukuna.

4. Domain Amplification

Domain Amplification was demonstrated by Jogo and Hanami in their battle against Gojo in Shibuya. To activate this technique, the user covers their body with their domain like a protective cloak.

While the technique is active, the user can neutralize the effects of their opponent's "sure-hit" domain. Furthermore, the user can also neutralize the Cursed Techniques of those they touch.

The downside of Domain Amplification is that the user cannot use their Cursed Techniques simultaneously. Therefore, the user must rely on their bare-handed fighting skills when using this technique.
