Fighting Skills
Tosen has mastered basic Shinigami combat techniques, such as Zanjutsu, Shunpo, Kido, and Hakuda. He possesses excellent swordsmanship. He has proven capable of matching other captains, such as Shinji Hirako, Kenpachi Zaraki, and Sajin Komamura.
Tosen is a fast Shunpo user. For example, he was able to get close to Grimmjow before Grimmjow even noticed him. He also skillfully protected Aizen from Shinji's attack.
Tosen has also demonstrated skill in using high-level Kido. He is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, as seen in his fight against Sajin Komamura.
Zanpakutō: Suzumushi
Tosen possesses an interesting Zanpakutō called Suzumushi. In its Shikai form, Tosen's sword possesses two special abilities that automatically produce unique attack effects.
The first ability activates after Tosen utters the command "Cry," or "nake" in Japanese. This ability produces a very high-pitched sound that reaches a wide area. Anyone who hears the sound will immediately faint.
This ability represents Tosen's strong sense of justice and dislike of bloodshed.
Suzumushi Nishiki: Benihikō
Suzumushi Nishiki: Benihikō is the second ability of Tosen's Zanpakutō. He first vibrates his sword, then makes a semi-circular motion, creating a trail.
This trail then transforms into hundreds of swords that rain down on the opponent. This attack can cause severe damage to both the opponent and the battlefield.
Bankai: Suzumushi Tsuishiki: Enma Kōrogi
When Tōsen activates his Bankai, he creates a black dome called Mumyō, a vacuum-filled space. This space nullifies an opponent's senses, preventing them from sensing spiritual energy, seeing, hearing, or smelling.
The only sense remaining functional within the space is touch. However, opponents trapped within the dome will still have difficulty facing Tōsen, who is accustomed to darkness. They can become easy targets for Tōsen.
Unlike other Bankai, the dome is not a manifestation or transformation of Suzumushi, but rather a separate extension. While the Bankai is active, Suzumushi retains its sword form and can be used as a weapon by Tōsen.
Hollowfication
After becoming Aizen's follower, Tōsen also underwent Hollowfication, granting him the power of a Hollow. This process significantly increased Tōsen's strength. He also gained access to signature Arrancar techniques, such as Descorrer and Ressurección.
Furthermore, Tōsen gained incredible regenerative powers while wearing the Hollow mask. When his hand is injured in battle, he can heal it back to its original condition.
Descorrer
