Grand Blue is a funny comedy anime adapted from the manga by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka. The anime is about a college boy named Iori Kitahara who joins a diving club called Peek a Boo.
The club members would rather party than go diving into the ocean. They also have crazy and irrational habits. Although Iori was uncomfortable at first, he got used to them.

10. Hajime Nojima
Hajime Nojima is one of Iori's college friends. He has a pretty cool style and likes to act like a playboy. However, he is often frustrated because he fails to attract the attention of women.
Hajime is also the type of guy who likes to be picky in choosing a partner. He doesn't like girls who look too small. Apart from that, he also often feels jealous of being close to a beautiful woman like Chisa.
9. Shinichirou Yamamoto
When compared to Hajime, Shinichirou Yamamoto has an even worse face and is almost hopeless. He is always insecure and frustrated because he is very unlucky in love affairs.
Because of that experience, Shinichirou is not picky about partners. He even continues to approach women who are ugly and dress up too much. What is clear, he has a strong passion to have a girlfriend.
8. Shinji Tokita
Shinji Tokita is one of Iori's seniors at the Peek a Boo dive club. He had a very muscular body and liked to drink until he was drunk. Even so, he has a strong passion in the world of diving.
Tokita also shows a hardworking nature. He is willing to work to earn a lot of money for the benefit of the club. Even though he often acts silly, he can be a good senior for Iori and his friends.
7. Ryuujirou Kotobuki
Ryuujirou Kotobuki more or less has the same character and personality as Tokita. He also loves to party and doesn't wear any clothes at all. Their hilarious behavior often disturbs the view.
Despite that, Kotobuki still shows a sane side. An example is when he worked as a bartender at a bar. He is able to act professionally and serve the visitors in a very friendly manner.
6. Nanaka Kotegawa
Nanaka Kotegawa is Chisa's older sister and a diving instructor at Grand Blue. She often hangs out with the Peek a Boo members. Even though she looks normal, she has a goofy side because she has a siscon complex.
Nanaka is very protective and obsessed with Chisa. She had an unpleasant attitude after hearing rumors that Iori and Chisa were dating. However, she supports Iori if she can make Chisa happy.
5. Azusa Hamaoka
Unlike Nanaka, Azusa Hamaoka is a Peek a Boo member who has a flirtatious nature and likes to tease Iori. She has a pretty face and a fantastic body. Because of that, she likes to make Iori nervous.
Azusa also has a goofy side. She likes to misunderstand Iori's sexual orientation. She thinks that Iori is bisexual and is in a relationship with Kouhei. Every time she is with Iori, she is often involved in funny conversations.
4. Aina Yoshiwara
Aina Yoshiwara was originally a member of the Tinkerbell tennis club. She often gets bad treatment and becomes a laughing stock because she always appears too small and looks like a clown.
After being cheered on by Iori and Kouhei, Aina gains her confidence again. She decided to join Peek a Boo. Although she is uncomfortable seeing the club members often naked, she gradually adapts.
3. Kouhei Imamura
Kouhei Imamura is a friend and rival of Iori Kitahara. He is known as a hardcore otaku and is obsessed with cute girls. He even wears cute anime girl outfits.
Kouhei is not interested in joining Peek a Boo at first. However, he falls into a trap set by Iori. He is also often involved in funny actions with Iori and his seniors. Even though she and Iori are bickering, they are best friends who care for each other.
2. Chisa Kotegawa
Chisa Kotegawa is Iori's cousin and Iori's classmate at Izu University. She has a beautiful face and ideal body. Unfortunately, she has a mean nature and likes to treat Iori in a rough way.
Chisa really hates Iori's attitude who likes to think dirty. Despite this, she also shows great concern for Iori. She was happy when she found out that Iori was interested in diving.

As the main protagonist in the story, Iori Kitahara is a very funny and interesting character. Even though he wanted to live a normal life, that wish could not come true after he joined the members of Peek a Boo.
Iori gradually begins to be affected by Tokita and Kotobuki's ridiculous habits. He also has days that are exciting, absurd, and sometimes beyond logic. Even though he is afraid of water, he has a great interest in diving.
