Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou aka Higehiro is a romantic comedy anime adapted from the light novel by Shimesaba. This anime tells the story of the relationship between an office man named Yoshida and a cute high school girl named Sayu Ogiwara.
One night, Yoshida met Sayu sitting on the side of the road. Sayu, who doesn't have a place to live, asks Yoshida for help to stay at his house. In exchange, Sayu was willing to give her body to Yoshida.
The kind Yoshida wants to help Sayu sincerely. He instead tries to help Sayu to move forward and become a better person. While living together, they unconsciously depend on each other and have feelings for each other.
10. Sayu's Mother
Sayu grew up in a toxic family environment because her mother was very selfish and never loved Sayu. Her mother always considered Sayu a burden that added difficulties to her life.
When Sayu returned home, her mother was even very angry and said that she regretted giving birth to Sayu. These words were so painful to hear that they made Yoshida very emotional.
9. Kyouya Yaguchi
Kyouya Yaguchi was one of the men who allowed Sayu to stay at his apartment. He initially seemed very bad because he forced Sayu to have sex even though Sayu refused.
Despite this, Kyouya stopped forcing Kyouya after he was scolded by Yoshida. He also kept his promise to Asami not to talk about Sayu's past. Apart from that, he helped Sayu when Sayu's older brother came looking for him at work.
8. Yuuko Masaka
Yuuko Masaka is Sayu's best friend in high school who has a nerd appearance. She has a very kind nature and is sincere in making friends. Apart from that, she also really admires the beautiful Sayu.
Even so, Yuuko is often bullied and becomes an outlet for girls who are jealous of Sayu. She always said that she was fine in front of Sayu. Ironically, she chose to end her life in a tragic way.
7. Issa Ogiwara
Next, there is Sayu's older brother named Issa Ogiwara. He is the CEO of a food company managed by the Sayu family. He basically has a good nature, but he is not firm enough in helping Sayu's problems.
Issa was very worried about Sayu's condition so he kept trying hard to find Sayu's whereabouts. He felt grateful to Yoshida who had taken care of his younger brother and made his attitude more mature.
6. Hashimoto
Hashimoto is Yoshida's co-worker and good friend at the office. He often becomes a place for Yoshida to confide in. He has a supportive nature and always gives wise advice to Yoshida.
Hashimoto always reminded Yoshida not to get too involved with Sayu. He also suspected that Yoshida would eventually become attached to and have feelings for Sayu. He was the one who convinced Yoshida to accompany Sayu to Hokkaido.
5. Asami Yuuki
Next, there is Sayu's good friend and co-worker named Asami Yuuki. She has a typical gyaru girl appearance. She has a relaxed nature and likes to speak in a slang style.
Despite her naughty appearance, Asami is a loyal and caring friend. She always supports Sayu and doesn't mind Sayu's problematic past.
4. Yuzuha Mishima
Yuzuha Mishima is Yoshida's junior who looks beautiful and hardworking. She often asks for help from Yoshida in carrying out tasks at the office. Apart from that, she likes taking Yoshida to watch movies.
Mishimi has harbored feelings for Yoshida for a long time. She also tried to attract Yoshida's attention in various ways. She felt very frustrated because her love was one-sided.
3. Airi Gotou
Airi Gotou is Yoshida's boss who is very beautiful and has a mature attitude. She had rejected Yoshida because she admitted that he already had a boyfriend. However, this turned out to be a lie.
Gotou basically also likes Yoshida and always pays attention to Yoshida at the office. She felt a little jealous when she heard rumors that Yoshida had a girlfriend. After she met Sayu, she supported Yoshida's decision to care for Sayu.
2. Yoshida
Yoshida is an office man who is very kind and has high concern for other people. Even though he is often seduced by Sayu, he still insists on not touching Sayu because he thinks that it is not right.
Yoshida wants Sayu to be able to live life like a normal high school girl. He always supports Sayu in facing her past. He let Sayu stay overnight at his place until Sayu had the urge to go home.
Although Yoshida always said that he didn't like high school girls, he eventually realized that he had feelings for Sayu. When Sayu returned to her parents' house, she felt lonely.
1. Sayu Ogiwara
It probably goes without saying that Sayu Ogiwara is the most interesting character in Higehiro's story. She is basically a kind girl. Unfortunately, she grew up in a bad environment so she lived life in the wrong way.
Sayu ran away from home because she felt depressed by the words of her mother who accused her of killing her best friend. These words were very painful for Sayu.
While running away from home, Sayu always moved from one place to another. She stays overnight at a man's house by giving them her body in return. However, this way of life ended after she met Yoshida.
Sayu feels that Yoshida is too kind to her. In order to repay Yoshida's kindness, she also does various household chores, such as cooking, washing and ironing. Thanks to Yoshida, she was able to move forward and no longer run away from her past.
