In One Piece, there are unique devices called Dials that can be found on Skypiea Island. These devices are made from the remains of particular seashells and can be used to store energy, such as heat, fire, light, and more.
Typically, Dials are used by the inhabitants of Skypiea in their daily lives. However, they also serve as deadly weapons in battle, such as those used by the Shandia guerrillas and the priest army led by Enel.
So, in this article, we will discuss about types of Dials in One Piece. Check out the full discussion until the end!
1. Flame Dial
We'll start with the Flame Dial, which can store and release fire. This Dial can be used as a weapon that can set enemies on fire in battle.
An example of this is Shura's bird, Fuza. The bird's mouth is equipped with a Flame Dial, allowing it to shoot flames. Furthermore, this Dial can be hidden under gloves.
2. Heat Dial
Although it may seem similar to the Flame Dial, Heat Dial's function and operation differ from it. It can both store and release heat. Typically, the inhabitants of Skypiea use this Dial as an oven or heater in their daily lives.
However, Heat Dial can also be used as a weapon in combat, such as Heat Javelin spear used by Shura. In addition to injuring the enemy, the spear can emit a high-heat attack.
3. Ball Dial
Then, there's Ball Dial, which at first glance looks cute and not too intimidating. The Dial is essentially a spherical cloud that can be used to sit on and can be equipped with certain features useful in combat, such as explosions and others.
We can see an example of this in Enel's subordinate, Satori. With the Ball Dial, he can create various surprise attacks to attack his enemies and manipulate it according to his creativity.
4. Breath Dial
As the name suggests, Breath Dial has the ability to store air while simultaneously expelling it at high speeds. This Dial is commonly used to propel a unique vehicle called Waver, which resembles a boat.
With the Dial, Waver can travel freely across the ocean without relying on natural wind power. Besides powering Waver, the Dial is also used by the Shandia tribe as a power source for their snowboards.
5. Flash Dial
Next, there's Flash Dial, which stores and releases light. The light emitted by this Dial is extremely bright and can temporarily blind enemies.
An example of the Flash Dial's use can be seen in the character Braham of the Shandia tribe. He wields a pair of pistols equipped with Flash Dials. He can fire both bullets and beams of light, making it difficult for enemies to dodge.
6. Lamp Dial
Lamp Dial is very similar to Flash Dial in that it also releases light. However, the light emitted by the Lamp Dial is more stable and less irritating to the eyes. Therefore, this Dial is not suitable for combat.
Instead, the Lamp Dial is more useful for everyday life. The inhabitants of Skypiea commonly use this Dial as a lighting device inside their homes.
7. Tone Dial
As the name suggests, this Dial functions like a tape recorder, allowing user to record sound. Furthermore, it can play the recorded sound repeatedly.
Brook and the rest of the Rumbar Pirates uniquely used a Tone Dial to record the song "Bink Sake" during their final moments of death. He wanted to play the recording to Laboon when they met when the time came.
8. Flavor Dial
This type of Dial is useful for storing odors or scents. For example, it can store the scent of foul-smelling farts, perfumes, and even explosive and flammable gases.
The Dial is commonly used by the inhabitants of Skypiea as an air freshener in their daily lives.
9. Vision Dial
Vision Dial functions similarly to a camera, capturing and storing images. The Dial was once used by the Amazon grandmother, the guardian of Skypiea's gates.
She took a photo of the entire Straw Hat crew, who refused to pay the Skypiea entrance fee, thus receiving punishment from the gods. Interestingly, the Amazon grandmother's Vision Dial resembles a modern camera.
10. Water Dial
As the name suggests, the Water Dial can store and release water.
Although never directly shown in the story, It was spoken of as being capable of extinguishing the large fire left after Enel's judgment, but was not seen in use
11. Axe Dial
Axe Dial is a very rare and difficult-to-find in Skypiea. The Dial fires a sharp X-shaped air attack capable of cutting through anything, including metal, in a single strike.
Because of this effect, this Dial is extremely useful in combat. Yama and his 50 subordinates used this Dial as a weapon against the Shandia tribe during the sky war.
12. Milky Dial
Next, the Milky Dial creates clouds in the air. These clouds are normally used as special paths for vehicles like the Shandia tribe's Shooter or Snowboard.
This cloud path looks very unique and interesting. Additionally, Gedatsu also uses the Milky Dial attached to his shoes. This allows him to fly through the air and aids him in battle.
13. Eisen Dial
Eisen Dial is also a very rare Dial. It can create a unique iron cloud due to its cloud-like properties, being both flexible and hard, like iron. The use of this Dial can be seen in Enel's subordinate, Ohm.
He wields a unique sword called the Eisen Whip, which can extend and retract. Furthermore, it is both hard and sharp like a normal sword. Even more uniquely, Ohm can transform his sword into a wall, useful for defense.
14. Jet Dial
Like Eisen Dial, Jet Dial is a very rare and difficult to find. It is a more powerful version of the Breath Dial, capable of expelling air at extremely high speeds.
Jet Dial is perfect for transportation. For example, Nami's ancient Waver uses this Dial as propulsion. Furthermore, Enel's Maxim ship also utilizes the Jet Dial as a backup power source.
Furthermore, the Jet Dial can also be used in combat, as seen in the character Gedatsu. With the power of the Jet Dial, Gedatsu can unleash punches at incredibly high speeds.
15. Impact Dial
Impact Dial is one of the most powerful Dials that can be used in combat. It can absorb kinetic energy released by a person or object, such as a hammer or similar.
After absorbing it, the Dial will release that energy when directed at an opponent. In combat, the Impact Dial user can absorb an opponent's blow and then return the attack to them.
The Dial's attacks can produce powerful impacts. Even Luffy, who has a rubber body, can feel pain after being hit by this Dial.
16. Reject Dial
In closing, there is a type of Dial that is even more powerful than the Impact Dial and is extremely rare: Reject Dial. This Dial has the power to absorb any attack and release its power tenfold. Therefore, this Dial is extremely dangerous.
However, using this Dial is a double-edged sword. If used by an inexperienced user, its effects can potentially destroy the user's body. So far, only Wiper possesses this Dial.
He once resorted to the reckless act of using this Dial three times in battle. Although it took a toll on his body, he was fortunate enough to endure the effects and survive.
