In Fairy Tail, there are powerful Dragon Slayer mages, who inherit power of a dragon. Interestingly, they are divided into five generations depending on how they acquired their powers.
In this article, we would explore the five generations of Dragon Slayers. Check out the full discussion below!
1. First Generation
First Generation are Dragon Slayers who learned their magic directly under the guidance of a dragon.
They usually consider the dragon to be their parent. Examples of First Generation Dragon Slayer mages include Natsu, Wendy, and Marvel.
2. Second Generation
Second Generation can be considered artificial Dragon Slayer mages. They don't acquire their abilities directly from a dragon.
Instead, they have Dragon Lacrima implanted in their bodies. Examples include Laxus and Cobra.
3. Third Generation
Third Generation is a hybrid of the two previous generations.
They learned Dragon Slayer magic directly from a dragon and have Dragon Lacrima implanted in their bodies. Examples include Sting and Rogue.
4. Fourth Generation
Fourth Generation Dragon Slayers are artificial beings created from Dragon Lacrima, or pure magic.
This magical effect grants them strength, speed, and endurance. They are able to fight autonomously until their power source is destroyed.
An example of Fourth Generation is Quartum Army, which appears exclusively in Fairy Tail the Movie: Dragon Cry.
5. Fifth Generation
Unlike previous cases, Fifth Generation obtains their powers by consuming dragon flesh or cannibalizing other Dragon Slayers. They are also known as Dragon Eaters.
The Fifth Generation was only explored more clearly in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. According to Madmole, they have no weakness for transportation or anything moving.
