10. Antoine the Great
Antoine the Great is a former pro wrestler with a large build. His reputation is so infamous that Yamcha is wary of him. He also possesses a grip that can crush his opponents.
In the preliminary round, Antoine must fight against Krillin. At first, he seems overconfident in his fighting skills. However, he isn't a serious threat to Krillin, as he is easily defeated.
9. Pamput
In addition to his Muay Thai martial arts skills, Pamput is also a movie star. He has also won international tournaments. That's what made him so famous and amassed a large fan base.
In terms of ability, Pamput is indeed very formidable. He can shatter walls with his punches. Unfortunately, his strength pales in comparison to Goku, who instantly knocks him out.
8. Man-Wolf
The next strongest fighter is Man-Wolf, also known as the Wolf Man. He has a personal grudge against Jackie Chun, who destroyed the moon. Without the moon, he cannot transform into a human.
Man-Wolf advanced to the quarterfinals and fought against Jackie Chun. He fought fiercely, but his attacks were ineffective against Jackie Chun. He quickly lost the fight.
7. Chappa-Ō
Like Antoine the Great, Chappa-Ō is a renowned martial artist. He was a former champion of the World Martial Arts Tournament. Furthermore, he has many loyal students.
Chappa-Ō is the first opponent Goku faces in the preliminary round. He was quite confident in his fighting abilities. However, Goku was still far superior to him.
6. Yamcha
After the battle against the Red Ribbon Army, Yamcha decided to become Master Roshi's disciple. He trained very hard so he could be stronger for the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.
Although Yamcha made it to the quarterfinals, his progress was cut short after he was brutally defeated by Tien. He had given his all in that battle. Unfortunately, Tien was far stronger than him.
5. Chiaotzu
Chiaotzu is Tien's best friend and a former student of Master Shen. He has a cute appearance and resembles a Chinese vampire. He is also very skilled at using psychic powers.
In the quarterfinals, Chiaotzu fought fiercely against Krillin. The two were evenly matched. However, Chiaotzu let his guard down mid-fight and was eliminated in that round.
4. Krillin
Krillin always trained very hard because he didn't want to lose to Goku. He also showed impressive power development. This was clearly visible during his fights in the tournament.
Krillin was able to defeat Antoine without difficulty. He was also able to match Chiaotzu after a great effort. Unfortunately, he failed after being defeated by Goku in the semi-finals.
3. Jackie Chun
In 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, Master Roshi again participated as Jackie Chun. He wanted to see the progress of his two students in the arena. One of the most interesting moments was his fight against Tien.
According to Master Roshi, Tien was a very formidable opponent and not easy to defeat. He also advised Tien to fight for good. Although he didn't win the championship, he was very happy to see a talented young fighter like Tien.
2. Son Goku
During the battle against the Red Ribbon Army, Goku experienced a significant increase in strength. He trained with Karin-sama and defeated Tao Pai Pai. He also traveled extensively for three years.
This is what made Goku so powerful in the 22nd 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. He was able to fight Tien in the final round. They both fought fiercely. Unfortunately, Goku lost the battle in the final seconds.
1. Tien Shinhan
In terms of strength, Tien Shinhan is arguably Goku's equal during their match at the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai. He was able to put Goku in dire straits with his unique techniques.
Initially, Tien had evil ambitions and intended to follow in Tao Pai Pai's footsteps. However, he began to change after his battles with Muten Roshi and Son Goku. These battles taught Tien a new lesson.
