Death Parade is a psychological anime with a compelling and mysterious storyline. This anime explores the afterlife. Its story is focus on the Arbiters, who have an interesting role and authority.
They must make decisions to determine the fate of the dead without involving emotions or empathy for them. Furthermore, there are several interesting characters that add to the storyline.
So, who are they? Let's check out the review below!
1. Decim
Decim is one of the main characters in Death Parade. He is the owner and bartender of Quindecim. One of Decim's interesting aspects is his cold, expressionless demeanor, unlike the typical Arbiter.
Decim doesn't even know how to respond to the emotions of those around him. However, Decim does demonstrate the ability to feel empathy after meeting Chiyuki, which is quite interesting to see.
2. Chiyuki
Chiyuki is a human who is considered a bug in the system by the Arbiters. Throughout the story, she is constantly seen at Decim's bar and collaborates with Decim to determine punishments or trials.
Despite the dark side of humans revealed before they die, Chiyuki shows empathy for them and influences the Arbiter to make decisions. Chiyuki's empathy ultimately changes Decim's personality somewhat.
3. Clavis
In the seemingly dark world of Limbo, Clavis serves as an elevator guard who always displays a smile and a friendly disposition. He consistently displays these traits when escorting anyone through the elevator he controls.
Furthermore, Clavis has a clearer view of the mysterious world of Limbo than other characters. Clearly, Clavis's kind nature helps lighten the mood in a story filled with the mystery of death.
4. Ginti
Like Decim, Ginti is also an Arbiter who works in the world of Limbo. However, Ginti has a very wild and aggressive nature. He has caused chaos and fought fiercely against Decim.
Because of this aggressive nature, Ginti's appearance immediately captured the audience's attention. Their fight is actually quite intense. However, this was short-lived as Nona managed to defuse the tension between the two.
5. Nona
In the world of Limbo, ruled by Oculus, Nona acts as the manager, ensuring everything runs smoothly. She has a rather eccentric style and likes to employ new tactics when testing humans.
One of the things that makes the Death Parade anime more interesting is Nona's decision-making style. She strives to understand how human emotions work and incorporates empathy into her judgment.
6. Oculus
Oculus is known as the de facto god who rules the world of Limbo in the Death Parade story. He has a very eccentric appearance with hair resembling flowers. He also enjoys playing billiards.
Despite his seemingly innocent appearance, Oculus has interesting interactions with his subordinates. He tries his best to understand their plans when making decisions. Oculus's leadership style is not perfect, but his actions are quite effective.
7. Quin
From the outside, Quin appears quite intimidating due to her negative attitude towards others. She is a former Arbiter who works at the Quindecim bar. However, Quin has shown that she doesn't enjoy her job.
She finds working as an Arbitrator extremely draining and frustrating. Even after being transferred to another position, Quin still complains about her work. Despite this, she's still willing to help anyone who needs her.
8. Mayu
Mayu is a fanatical and talkative pop idol fan. She has spent her entire life adoring her idols. However, she realizes that it's all pointless.
Mayu doesn't deserve to waste her energy worshipping someone who contributes nothing to her life. Furthermore, Mayu rebelled against Ginti when she was forced to play a very dangerous game.
