All Basil Hawkins' Techniques in One Piece, Explained

Basil Hawkins is a powerful member of Supernova and one to be wary of. He possesses a unique devil fruit called Wara Wara no Mi. Thanks to this devil fruit, he can manipulate straw for various purposes.

Throughout the story, Hawkins demonstrates various interesting techniques and abilities in combat. Intrigued? Let's discuss them below!

1. Straw Man

Hawkins' first technique is Straw Man. He can create small straw dolls that represent a person's body. Hawkins stores these dolls inside his body.

Hawkins can store up to 10 dolls inside his body at once. These dolls can protect him from various enemy attacks. This ability makes him extremely formidable and difficult to defeat.

2. "Life" Minus

"Life" Minus is still related to Hawkins' previous ability. If Hawkins is injured by an attack from an opponent, he will not receive the direct impact of the attack.

However, the damage will be absorbed by one of the dolls inside his body. Once his supply of puppets runs out, Hawkins becomes vulnerable to injury in battle.

3. Warabide Sword

Warabide Sword is Basil Hawkins’ signature weapon, created from straw through the power of the Wara Wara no Mi. This longsword can freely extend and reshape, allowing Hawkins to launch wide-ranging, long-distance attacks while remaining razor-sharp.

Its straw can also be transformed into the massive Straw Man’s Card, a giant scarecrow that strengthens Hawkins’ combat abilities and provides powerful support in battle.

4. Goma no So

Goma no So is one of Hawkins' signature techniques. When using this technique, Hawkins covers his body in straw, transforming into a massive straw monster.

In this form, Hawkins is equipped with sharp metal spikes. He can use these spikes as weapons to attack opponents. Hawkins demonstrated this technique during his fights against Kizaru at Sabaody and Killer at Onigashima.

5. Straw Man's Card

Straw Man's Card is one of Hawkins' most terrifying techniques. He ejects a large amount of straw from his sword to create a giant monster similar to Goma no So.

This straw monster is gigantic and wields various powerful weapons, such as a spiked mace or sharp spikes. The monster moves according to Hawkins' movements. Furthermore, the monster's strength also depends on the tarot card Hawkins plays.
